IRS Group is committed to equal opportunities. Every candidate, worker, client and member of staff should be treated fairly and with respect, and judged only on their ability to do the job.
1. Our commitment
We will not discriminate against anyone because of any of the characteristics protected by the Equality Act 2010:
- age
- disability
- gender reassignment
- marriage and civil partnership
- pregnancy and maternity
- race, including colour, nationality and ethnic or national origin
- religion or belief
- sex
- sexual orientation
This applies to how we advertise jobs, register and shortlist candidates, put people forward to clients, offer assignments, pay workers and deal with our own staff.
2. Fair recruitment
- Job adverts describe the skills and experience the role genuinely needs, in clear and inclusive language.
- Candidates are assessed against the requirements of the role, not personal characteristics.
- Any requirement, such as a qualification, licence or physical ability, must be genuinely needed for the job.
3. Working with clients
We will not accept or act on a request from a client that is discriminatory. For example, we will not supply workers based on their age, sex, nationality or any other protected characteristic unless the law specifically allows it. Where a request is unlawful, we will explain why and will not act on it.
4. Reasonable adjustments
If you have a disability or health condition, we will make reasonable adjustments to our registration and recruitment process so you are not disadvantaged. Please let us know what would help, for example extra time, a different format for documents or support at an interview. We will also work with clients to identify reasonable adjustments on assignment.
5. Monitoring
We may ask you to complete equality monitoring information so we can check our processes are fair. Giving this information is entirely voluntary, it is kept separate from your application and it is never used to make decisions about you.
6. Raising a concern
If you believe you have been treated unfairly by IRS Group, one of our clients or anyone else while working through us, please tell us. You can use our Complaints Procedure, and every complaint will be taken seriously and investigated. Nobody will be victimised for raising a concern in good faith.
7. Review
This policy is supported by the directors of IRS Group and reviewed at least once a year.
